What does the weekly school schedule look like?
Pre-K3 classes have the option of either Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 3pm or Tuesday - Thursday 8:30am - 3pm.
Pre-K4 through our Upper Learning classes meet Monday - Thursday, 8:30am - 3pm.
Are students required to arrive each morning at a certain time?
Yes. School begins at 8:30. Students should arrive no earlier than 8:00 and no later than 8:25 in order to be seated and ready for their day to begin. Field trip days may require students to arrive at a different time.
What are the benefits of enrolling my student at MAGCA?
MAGCA is dedicated to help spiritually prepare students for college and for life. Our Christian faith and Biblical beliefs are integrated into all of our curriculum and are very important to our core mission of helping “train up children in the way they should go” (Proverbs 22:6). We believe public education is currently based on humanistic, man centered philosophy that is the opposite of what Scripture teaches. A ‘value neutral’ education has become impossible. With over 15,000 hours spent in the classroom from Kindergarten - 12th grade, it is vital for Christian families to give their children a quality, Christ-centered education that should compliment what is also being taught at home.
What will the enrollment process look like?
As a private Christian academy, we want to make sure that our values are in alignment with yours. Once you complete online registration, we will schedule a time to meet with you and your student(s). Then, if approved by our school board, we will enroll your student(s) at MAGCA. If a particular grade is on a waiting list, preference will be given first to current members of MAG Church, then to new families.
What curriculum will you be using?
We use the highly respected Abeka curriculum. Abeka is a comprehensive curriculum with a proven track record. It is built on a firm foundation of Scriptural truth, and written by talented Christian scholars who are well grounded in practical aspects of teaching. Students taught with Abeka have been accepted into prestigious colleges and gone on to serve the Lord in demanding careers.
Are uniforms required?
Yes. For shirts, we require a MAGCA tshirt or navy/orange polo. For pants, students must wear blue jeans or khaki/navy slacks. Navy blue or khaki shorts or are also acceptable, as long as they are no shorter than one inch above the knee. Khaki or blue skirts are also approved for girls. Clothes must not be form fitting or too short, ripped / frayed or have holes, and must always be appropriate.
Thursday’s are “no uniform days” as long as clothes worn adhere to our handbook standards and as long as a field trip day is not scheduled.
What kind of outdoor activity will be offered during school hours?
We believe in giving our students as much time for physical activity during their learning day as possible. We are in the process of planning an outdoor play area for our students. Until then, our gym allows room for exercise and playtime activities.
What kind of safeguards do you have in place on the MAGCA campus?
All entrances remain locked between morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up and all incoming / outgoing traffic is monitored. Multiple perimeter checks are scheduled throughout the day. Our campus is also fully monitored by security cameras in every classroom, hallway and entrance.
For communication, we use the Brightwheel app which allows staff to maintain both timely and secure two-way communication with parents / guardians throughout the school day and beyond.
What are your breakfast / lunch options?
Currently, students are asked to bring a lunch and drink(s), as well as snacks. We also offer a limited morning menu for students who would like to purchase breakfast before classes begin, between 8 and 8:20am each morning.
Will you offer other activities such as sports, band, etc. as you grow?
Many of our students currently participate in Community Christian School’s (CCS) sports program! As we grow, we plan to grow our offerings as well.
